Vienna-Marburg combined program

At a glance

This opportunity-packed program places you in German-speaking Europe for anywhere between five and twelve months. We know that acquiring German skills and adjusting to the European way of life takes time and is challenging, so under this option you can spend two months in Vienna followed by one or two semesters in Marburg. Apply yourself and not only will your language proficiency soar, you will also gain highly valued cross-cultural and interpersonal skills.

Included in the program price  are the German language course fees with our partner language school in Vienna, semester fees at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, optional enrollment in German to English Translation (GER 310) in Marburg, Genuss-ist-ein-Muss get-togethers at the program director’s home, public transportation passes for Vienna and Marburg that cover the program dates, student housing for the duration of the program (semester breaks included for full-year students), group travel that includes train fare, accommodations and museum passes, orientation, pre-departure and academic advising, a course report issued by Achievement, and a Ucard with a library card function.

All students admitted to the program must demonstrate that they have a health insurance policy in place for the duration of their stay in Vienna. After the pre-semester prep in Vienna, students will be required by the local officials in Germany to purchase a local health insurance policy, and we can gladly connect you with our contact for health insurance.

Join us for two consecutive semesters / an academic year and receive a discount on your second semester.

Another important perk:  you can keep your student housing over the Christmas and semester breaks and travel as you please.

Program dates:
Fall semester from late July / early August till Christmas OR into January, depending on when you need to be back on your home campus for the spring semester. Most fall semester students depart when Christmas break starts.
Spring semester from late January / early February till late July.
