Health & Safety

When it comes down to it, nothing matters more than our health and safety.  We want you to be safe, so be sure to read up on Austria and Germany as you prepare to join us, and please register with the State Department in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).

Fortunately we operate in relatively safe parts of the world.  Vienna has been ranked as having the world's highest quality of living for the past 10 years, and Marburg certainly holds its own as well.  Three German cities made the 2019 Top 10 list, including Frankfurt am Main - just an hour by train from Marburg - placing at #7 in the world.

Nevertheless, it's always good to err on the safe side, so students admitted to Achievement Study Abroad programs are required to demonstrate that they have health insurance before coming abroad.  Don't have any?  We can recommend CISI from having worked with them in the past.  For your time in Marburg you will be required by local officials to purchase a German health insurance policy, and these policies are quite sound.  For German health insurance we can recommend and put you in touch with a German health insurance provider directly - please ask to be linked to our local contact.
